Lip filler migration or swelling? What to bring to a review

Why the timing and location of a change matter more than a single photo of the lip border.

Note when you first saw the change

Early swelling can change the outline of the lips. A fullness that persists after recovery deserves a review. A photo alone usually cannot establish whether you are seeing filler outside the intended area, swelling or your natural anatomy.

Bring comparable photos

A relaxed front and side photo in indirect daylight gives the clinic more context than a zoomed-in selfie. Include pre-treatment photos if you have them and tell the clinic whether the area has changed in size, colour or tenderness.

Have the area assessed before booking more filler

Ask what the practitioner can tell from an in-person assessment and whether observing the area or discussing other options makes sense. Avoid trying to correct the shape by repeatedly pressing or massaging it unless your treating clinic has advised you to do so.
