How to take useful photos for a treatment review

A repeatable way to show a change without filters, harsh lighting or misleading angles.

Make your first photo easy to repeat

Take a relaxed front view and side views in indirect daylight. Hold the camera at face height, use the same distance each time and turn off smoothing or portrait effects.

Keep the date and context

Note when the treatment took place and when you took each photo. If you are tracking a concern, record when it started and whether it is changing. A brief timeline helps your practitioner interpret what they see.

Use the clinic’s contact instructions

Ask which channel to use if the clinic requests a photo. If you are concerned about an unexpected symptom, call for advice promptly and explain the symptom as well as the visible change.
